Cette localisation, qui consiste en une concentration de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie dans une sous-r\u00e9gion tr\u00e8s restreinte du domaine complet, a des cons\u00e9quences majeures dans de nombreux domaines sur les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s de vibrations, de propagation ou de transport \u00e9lectronique. Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9montr\u00e9e exp\u00e9rimentalement en m\u00e9canique, en acoustique, en \u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tique et en physique quantique. Nous pr\u00e9senterons une th\u00e9orie qui met en \u00e9vidence l\u2019existence une structure sous-jacente et universelle, le paysage de localisation, obtenue par r\u00e9solution d&rsquo;un probl\u00e8me associ\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9quation des ondes <strong>[1]<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Dans les syst\u00e8mes quantiques, ce paysage permet notamment de d\u00e9finir un \u00ab potentiel effectif \u00bb qui pr\u00e9dit les r\u00e9gions de localisation, les \u00e9nergies des modes localis\u00e9s, la densit\u00e9 d&rsquo;\u00e9tats, ainsi que la d\u00e9croissance \u00e0 longue port\u00e9e des fonctions d&rsquo;onde. Cette th\u00e9orie est applicable quelle que soit la dimension, pour les syst\u00e8mes continus ou discrets.
